Hammersmith is home to a number of wonderful cafes and restaurants, each offering you delicious snacks, meals and treats. Here is a whistle-stop tour through some of Hammersmith’s best eateries.
Breakfast & Brunch
For those wanting to start the day well, Bill’s at 10 Hammersmith Grove does a stunningly varied breakfast where the slightly more health conscious can tuck into granola, porridge or fruit while those wanting to dive into something a bit naughtier can indulge in a full English with a Bill’s twist.
If you want breakfast on the go, Hammersmith Broadway has a host of coffee shops and cafes that will make sure you’re ready and raring for the day ahead.
Get your caffeine kick at Costa, Pret a Manger and Starbucks or go for something indulgent at Café de Nata or Paul.
With such an abundance of venues, it’s difficult to know where to start, so we recommend listening to Hammersmith employees, residents and visitors who named Leon, The Hammersmith Ram, Coco di Mama and Street Eats as the best restaurant, pub, on-the-go outlet and café in the 2018 HammersmithLondon I Love Lunch Awards.
The Hammersmith Ram offers a great selection of dishes including their delicious burgers or British classics like roasts, fish & chips and pies.
And of course, on a Sunday the choice is simple for most; it has to be a big old roast dinner – Salutation style.
Street Eats brings together the best street food from around the world, combining the most interesting and edgy global flavours for dishes that are honest, stripped back and full of goodness. Try their mouth-watering Rotis or the amazing Cuban sandwiches.
Grab fast food Italian style at Coco di Mama, masters of fast pasta. Located in the Hammersmith Broadway Shopping Centre, the pasta is fresh and delicious and comes in 16 choices. For healthy, ethical food try Leon. Their mission statement is to make it easy for everyone to eat well and this evident in the vibrant food menu catering for a wide range of dietary requirements.
If you’re after an award-winning dinner, look no further than Hammersmith’s gastropub extraordinaire, The Dartmouth Castle. The Michelin Guide featured pub has been praised by the very best – including The Sunday Times and Time Out – for its food and vast wine collection. A particular highlight is the Dartmouth Penne, a mouth-watering classic which brings many a salivating Hammersmith employee out on their lunch break.
Alternatively, if you want a quick pre-show or post-show bite, make sure you pop into Honest Burger. Conveniently located on Fulham Palace Road by the Eventim Apollo, this popular restaurant offers a wide selection of burgers for meat eaters and vegetarians. For casual Japanese dining, Wagamama caters to everyone serving sumptuous dishes made from fresh nourishing flavours, creating delicious Asian cuisine in the heart of Hammersmith. Serving up a mouth-watering menu, Wagamama uses only the freshest ingredients to ensure an outstanding palatable experience. The colours and aromas, flavours and spices are always at their best when they get to the table. The Asian inspired dishes have been created to soothe, nourish, sustain and inspire and are served immediately to delighted customers.
On the go
If you’re on the move, this a huge selection of ‘on-the-go’ places to choose from. Tickle your taste buds with Icelandic dogs and shakes at Chilly Katz on Beadon Road or if chicken’s your thing, there’s Korean crispy chicken restaurant WingWing on Hammersmith Broadway. Grab a burrito in Barburrito in the Broadway shopping centre, or for canteen style dining, Feast Canteen offers a ‘street food’ menu with restaurants serving burgers, noodles and tacos.
