Summer Festival begins next week

Summer Festival begins next week!

The FREE HammersmithLondon Summer Festival is back for its ninth year. Now award-winning, we look forward to delivering this thrilling 2016 programme.

If you’re a Privilege or E-Privilege cardholder, join our blue badge guide on Saturday 4 June for a walk round the Lyric Hammersmith. Meet 11am outside Hammersmith Broadway tube.

HammersmithLondon then invite you to join us in Lyric Square to celebrate theatre, dance, circus and music in an exciting programme of outdoor performances.

Lyric in the Square will begin on Tuesday 7 June with performances of The Little Gardener, a How it Ended Production based on the book by Emily Hughes. These will also be a part of HF ArtsFest.

The following week, Hikapee’s Home will burst onto the square; a new, daring outdoor circus piece, weaving together slapstick comedy with breathtaking aerial, acrobatic physical performances to explore what it is to create a ‘home’.

DanceWest will then showcase some of the nation’s best dance companies in Lyric Square, with performances on Tuesday 21 – Wednesday 22 June.

The final Lyric in the Square performances will be Mon 11-Wed 13 July. Enjoy a variety of exciting performances from the companies based at the Lyric. Featuring Musiko Musika’s ECCO London Youth Orchestra, Lyric Young Company’s 7-9 Acting Up group, DanceWest, Tri-borough Music Hyb and the New English Ballet Theatre. It is not to be missed and suitable for all.

Kick back in a deckchair and watch as all the drama from SW19 unfolds live on the HammersmithLondon Big Screen as we broadcast all the action from the Wimbledon Tennis Championships from Monday, June 27 to Sunday July 10. And look out for the Strawberry Wall in nearby Kings Mall, to enjoy watching the tennis with FREE strawberries in true Wimbledon style.

And join us for Il Trovatore live on the Big Screen from the Royal Opera House on Thursday 14 July. Sit back in Lyric Square to savour Verdi’s gripping masterpiece, packed with powerful arias and thrilling choruses, including the instantly recognizable ‘Anvil Chorus’.

Picnic in the Square will also return from 11-13 & 18-20 July, between 12noon and 3pm. Unwind during your lunchtime by sitting outside on our giant 20ft long picnic tables or come and soak up the sun in the HammersmithLondon deckchairs.

Lumi Power Yoga are also returning to lead Yoga in the Square on Wednesday lunchtimes between 29 June – 13 July, so don’t be shy, come and join in with the downward-facing dogs on Lyric Square.

Throughout the festival you can get active and learn about the local area by taking part in our Free Guided Walks on Saturday, June 4, Saturday, July 2 and Saturday, August 6.
