Made in H&F Pop-Up Shop draws rave reviews and big crowds

The Made in H&F Pop-Up Shop has been hailed as a “brilliant idea” and a “great initiative” by the customers who have flooded through the doors during its first month of trading.

HammersmithBID, in partnership with Hammersmith & Fulham Council and Kings Mall, have transformed an empty unit in the shopping centre into a bright, well-designed outlet, showcasing the best arts, crafts and clothing from talented local makers.

The shop, located next to Poundland and opposite Game, is providing Hammersmith’s creative talent a place to sell their goods in the run-up to Christmas. Ultimately the vision is to establish a permanent store, showcasing the best arts and crafts made in the borough.

Open from 10am-6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays, the outlet is already proving hugely popular, with sales ahead of target and hundreds of customers visiting the store in the first four weeks.

“It’s great to see so many great things made locally. Amazing idea,” said one satisfied customer.

Other comments collected on the shop’s feedback forms, included:

“This is a great initiative to support the local community. Love it!”

“Brilliant idea! And wonderful to promote the arts community.”

“I Love it! I would like to see it continue.”

“Very nice merchandise will come again.”

“Brilliant idea, everyone wants to support ‘locals’ in various ways.”
