HammersmithLondon to celebrate London Car-Free Day

HammersmithLondon, in partnership with Hammersmith & Fulham Council, will be marking London Car-Free Day with a schedule of events and activities on Friday, September 21.

World Car-Free day has been running in cities around the globe since 2000, aiming to encourage sustainable travel such as walking and cycling.

This year boroughs across London have been encouraged to play their part, helping to promote the healthy message of tackling pollution and helping to improve air quality across the capital.

The official London Car-Free Day falls on Saturday, September 22 but to encourage more participation from local businesses and office workers HammersmithLondon will hold this event the day before.

The southern end of Hammersmith Grove will be closed to vehicles, with a variety of activities planned for the stretch of road and the nearby parklets.

The main schedule will be happening from 11am-3pm and include free Dr Bike sessions, an outdoor fitness class from Fitness First, table tennis, garden games and music, with goodie bags also handed out to those in attendance.
